Begin your journey among ancient tombs, imperial villas, and timeless spots like the Ninfeo di Egeria, the Mausoleum of Cecilia Metella, and the Circus of Maxentius.
You’ll cycle along the Acquedotto Felice, with its majestic arches rising against the sky, witnesses to the engineering genius of Ancient Rome. The Parco degli Acquedotti area offers the peaceful silence of the Roman countryside.
You’ll descend into the city’s depths by visiting one of the most evocative sites of early Christianity: the Catacombs of San Callisto (if you choose the option with Catacombs visit). A labyrinth of galleries and crypts preserves the memory of the first Christians, with frescoes, symbols, and millennia-old burials.
The unique feature of the Appian Way is its surface of large cobblestones, which makes the terrain slightly uneven. For this reason, only that section of the tour can be considered of light-moderate difficulty.
