Full Description
Enjoy a flavorful journey through Roman culinary tradition with our Gnocchi cooking class and Trionfale Market Tour. This experience combines the best of both worlds: a guided market exploration and a hands-on cooking class led by an expert local chef....
Your day begins at the Mercato Trionfale, the largest covered food market in Rome and a beloved meeting place for locals. With over 270 colorful stalls, it’s the perfect spot to soak in the atmosphere of Roman daily life. Alongside your chef, you’ll explore vibrant displays of fresh produce, herbs, cheese, and olives, chatting with friendly vendors and selecting the finest seasonal ingredients — from ripe tomatoes to tender potatoes and fragrant basil.
Then, just a short walk away, you’ll reach our state-of-the-art cooking school, equipped with sleek, luxury and custom-designed kitchens. In a small group of maximum six guests, each participant will have their own workstation for a truly personal learning experience.
Guided by your chef, you’ll learn to prepare gnocchi from scratch — boiling the potatoes, mixing eggs and flour, and shaping the perfect dough by hand. Next, you’ll create a simple, seasonal sauce — perhaps a tomato and basil one in summer, or butter and sage in winter. Discover the story of “Giovedì Gnocchi”, the Roman tradition of serving gnocchi on Thursdays to prepare for the lighter fish dishes on Fridays.
After cooking, take a seat and enjoy your handmade meal paired with a fine glass of Italian wine. End your experience with crunchy cantucci cookies and sweet vin santo, a perfect Roman-style finale.
Before you go, you’ll receive a digital recipe booklet, so you can recreate your gnocchi making class in Rome at home and share your newfound skills with friends and family.
